The IATI Dashboard is used to view a summary of published IATI data. This tool can be used to check for errors in data, see which elements an organisation is publishing and provides metrics on all data published to IATI.

The IATI Dashboard can be used to understand which organisations are providing data in each element of the IATI Standard, to check for errors in data files, and to find metrics on the quality of IATI data published.

What data can be found on the IATI Dashboard?

The IATI Dashboard provides public charts and metrics on all IATI data published by organisations (referred to as ‘publishers’). You can look at the data for an individual publisher, or for all IATI publishers.

There are four key sections in the IATI Dashboard:

  1. Headlines – this contains graphs and charts about the total number of IATI publishers, files and activities published since 2014. It is useful for answering questions such as ‘What is the size, scope and scale of IATI data?’
  2. Data quality – this highlights technical errors in organisations’ publishing. These could include download errors, issues with XML formatting and inconsistent or incorrect use of unique identifiers. It is useful for answering questions such as ‘What unique identifiers has an organisation used more than once?’
  3. Exploring data – this explains what data organisations are publishing. You can find details of the use of every single element, attribute and code. It is useful for answering questions such as ‘Which organisations are publishing SDG Indicators at results level?’

Publishing statistics – these tables compare how organisations are meeting the Key qualities of IATI data in their publishing. They also provide an overview of what you can expect to find in an organisation’s data. This section is useful for answering questions such as ‘What else could I add to my publishing to make it more useful for data users?’

How does the IATI Dashboard work?

The IATI Dashboard is a tool managed by the IATI Secretariat. Every day, it collects published data via the IATI Registry and analyses it.

The Dashboard aims to present data on organisations’ publishing to IATI in a useful format. This is predominantly metadata – such as how many files are failing validation and which parts of the Standard are being used. For example, you can check how many organisations are publishing results data. However, it does not display or analyse the content or meaning of an organisation’s data, such as are the results being reported meaningful.
