While using IATI data, there are a number of ways to get help depending on whose data you are looking at and the tool you are using.
Each publishing organisation is responsible for ensuring the quality of its own data. Many organisations are publishing good quality data, but this can and does vary between publishers.
Each organisation decides upon the amount of content they provide and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of that information.
IATI monitors the structure of published data and ensures that it follows the machine-readable rules in the IATI Standard. However, IATI does not audit or verify the content of published data. The IATI Secretariat and other tool providers are working on improving tools for validation and data use that flag where data quality can be improved.
User feedback is key to improving data quality by highlighting to publishers areas in which they can improve their data and ensure it accurately reflects their work. The more reliable and accurate data is, the more it will be systematically used.
If there is information you cannot find, cannot interpret or you think is wrong, please let the publisher know.
If you are a publisher and are looking to improve the quality of your data, please see Data Quality.
Each IATI publisher is required to provide an email address on the IATI Registry and may also include a link to their website. To find these details, go to the required publisher’s page and the address will be displayed on the right of the screen under ‘Contact’.
Publishers can also include specific contact email addresses within their IATI data. For guidance on how to check, please see Using the IATI Registry.
There are a range of tools and resources for using IATI data; some are provided by IATI while others are offered by third parties.
