Related data
Within the IATI activity standard it is possible to express relations between iati-activity records across different publishers / reporting-org.
This can be described through two methods:
related-activity- anotheriati-activitythat has relationship to the one being described.transaction- bothprovider-activity-id&receiver-activity-idcan be used to link funds from oneiati-activityto another.
Considerations
When using the IATI activity standard to declare related data, the following should be considered:
A
related-activitycan be one published by anyreporting-org- it does not have to be from the same publisher. When declaring a
related-activityit is vital to include the reference to the uniqueiati-identifier. This enables structured links to be made.It is also recommended to include the type of relationship that is being expressed, through use of the RelatedActivityType code.
When declaring links between different activities, it is recommended to use the
related-activityelement and associated RelatedActivityType code in all relevantiati-activities, so that all activities are related to each other.- At the
transactionlevel , it is recommended to connectiati-activitythrough use of theprovider-activity-id&receiver-activity-idfields. Specifically: When an Incoming Fund (code 1) is being described, use the
provider-activity-idreference to declare the immediate source of the funds, using the relevantiati-identifierof theiati-activity, if published by theprovider-orgWhen a Disbursement (code 3) or Commitment (code 2) is being described, use the
receiver-activity-idreference to declare the immediate destination of the funds, using the relevantiati-identifierof theiati-activity, if published by thereceiver-org
