The nomination period for the IATI Governing Board Elections closed on 11 March 2024.
Seven eligible nominations were received for the seven seats available on the Board. An eighth nomination was received from a Provider of Development Cooperation, but was subsequently withdrawn.
According to Annex III: Election Process for Governing Board of the IATI Standard Operating Procedures, no vote was required in any of the constituencies, or for the technical seat.
The following candidates are confirmed as members of the 2024 - 2026 IATI Governing Board and representatives within these three constituencies:
Partner countries
- Government of Lesotho, Ministry of Finance and Development Planning - Mr. Motai Ramokoinihi
- Government of Somalia, Ministry of Planning, Investment & Economic Development - Mr. Mohamed Gele
Providers of development cooperation
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (incumbent) - Ms. Thea Schepers
- UNICEF - Ms. Zainab Al-Azzawi (replacing Mr. Joseph Barnes)
Civil Society Organisations and other
- AfroLeadership (incumbent) - Mr. Charlie Martial Ngounou
- Fields Data - Mr. Anand Ramachandran Nair
Technical seat
- Zimmerman BV / Open Data Company - Mr. Siem Vaessen
Congratulations to these members who form the new IATI Governing Board from 1 April 2024, in accordance with IATI’s Standard Operating Procedures (4.2 Governing Board Election Process).
Sincere thanks to outgoing Board members for their hard work in steering IATI through its recent period of institutional change: Henry Asor Nkang (Nigeria), Innocent Mugabe (Rwanda), Joseph Barnes (UNICEF) and Winnie Kamau (Association of Freelance Journalists). Each has made an invaluable contribution as a member of the 2022-2024 cohort.
