At the heart of our work is the IATI Standard. This is a set of rules and guidance produced by IATI for publishing useful development and humanitarian data.
IATI publishers include a broad range of organisations, from donor governments, development finance institutions and UN agencies to non-governmental organisations, foundations and private sector organisations.
We support organisations to publish a range of information about their spending and activities according to the IATI Standard. For example, organisations can publish details of their future budgets, the locations of their projects, or the results that have been achieved.
To publish data according to the IATI Standard, information needs to be provided in the data format XML. Using this format means fast, machine-readable data can be easily exchanged, compared and combined with other data published in the same way.
This data can be converted into less technical formats, such as spreadsheets, and be used by digital tools to display the data in charts, graphs and maps.
All data published to the IATI Standard is catalogued by an index, called the IATI Registry.
IATI data can be searched by anyone through a number of websites and analysed in different ways . We support people to use IATI by raising awareness, providing guidance and technical tools required to use the data.
You can explore the data at d-portal. For more detailed searches – for example, by country, by sector or by organisation publishing data, use the IATI Datastore Search. IATI data can also be integrated directly into governments’ internal financial systems.
